Antique Kei (アンティーク系) is a japanese vintage fashion that is based on antique european clothing. It was popularized by multiple vintage shops across Japan, and mistakenly refered to as "Dolly Kei" in the west as part of a Grimoire interview mistranslation.
Different to most japanese fashions, this style is based around mostly thrifted vintage and antique clothing. The look is characterized by a dark appearance, layering, lace, embroidery, animal fur (usually faux), as well as large accessories based around creepy fairytales. The fabrics are usually heavy and in deep dark jewel-tones or black with a battered, worn, distressed appearance.
