Lolita Fashion Wiki

Hime Lolita (姫ロリ, Hime Rori, Princess Lolita) is a style of Lolita with a grandiose princess-like look. Features and decorative elements are borrowed from both Sweet Lolita and Classic Lolita.

Features[]

Silhouette []

Dresses are elaborately decorated with copious amounts of lace, ruffles, bows and roses. Blouses are usually made out of lace fabric or chiffon, with distinctive flared princess sleeves. They may also have a lower square or round neckline. The hemline may adhere to the knee, although longer dresses are common.

Princess Lolita distinguishes itself from typical Sweet Lolita with its opulence. Dresses commonly take direct influences from 18th century Rococo fashion, emulating the look of the Robe à la Française, also known as the sack-back gown, or in the excessive level of adornment in the Rococo dresses of 18th century European royal courts.

Motifs[]

Colours are usually lighter shades, such as pale pink, white, baby blue, or other pastels such as lilac. Darker colours can be used for a more Classic or Gothic Lolita-inspired look.

Hair and Makeup[]

Hairstyles can be simple, but favour exaggerated and high-volume styles, achieved by teasing and curling the hair or with the use of wigs and extensions. Curled hair is also common for a more luxurious look.

Accessories[]

Miniature crowns, large bonnets, flower crowns and rose headdresses with lace veils are common. Gold jewellery, pearls, elbow- or wrist-length lace gloves are also popular additions. Some Hime Lolita outfits also include crown sceptres and fans made of paper or lace.

Shoes[]

Victorian and Rococo-styled heeled boots appear more in Hime Lolita, although short heels and rocking horse shoes are also worn.
